Your role at Clorox:
The Procurement Category Manager creates, captures, and protects value for Clorox through strategic management of the Fragrances and Flavors raw materials category. This category has an approximate total annual spend of $40M–$70M and is vital to driving product differentiation and consumer delight. Key responsibilities include crafting global category strategies; modeling and forecasting costs; negotiating with and managing suppliers ranging from transactional to strategic; sourcing innovation; contracting; and partnering with Business Operations and Procurement Operations teams to provide Procurement thought leadership on global product development projects.
In this role, you will:
- Craft and drive procurement strategies for the Fragrances and Flavors raw material category across brands and geographies to focus on Cost, Supply Robustness, Innovation, and Sustainability. Translate business strategies and requirements into an aligned procurement category strategy.
- Identify and execute projects to improve value delivery across the spend portfolio.
- Manage strategic relationships with suppliers by discovering and providing insights on how to best develop and leverage supplier capabilities to meet business needs.
- Uncover continuous improvement opportunities to advance the category such as design to value, cost models, and process mapping and by monitoring market dynamics, supplier competitive landscape, and category pricing/costing strategy.
- Partner with R&D to ensure the needs and wants of the business are reflected in the category strategies and implemented as planned.
- Support actions required to address operational issues.
What we look for:
- 5+ years of procurement experience in a global, matrixed environment successfully leading strategic procurement work for direct/raw materials category management, particularly fragrances, flavors, or herbs/spices/essential oils. Including category management, supplier relationship management, and commodity forecasting.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably Business, Economics, Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, Sensory Science, or related fields
- Experience providing recommendations and updates to and interacting with senior leadership both internal and external to Clorox.
- Experience with Sourcing/Procurement tools and methodologies, including RFPs, Category Strategy development, Cost Models/Should Cost/Clean Sheet, Negotiations, and Contracts.
- Experience operating in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) or FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) industry experience

- Agreement Negotiation – Able to understand and negotiate supplier agreements (e.g. Supply, Non-Disclosure, and Technical Services).
- Systems – Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and MRP systems (SAP preferred)
- Travel – ability to travel up to 25%

Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.
–Zone A: $104,100 - $199,100
–Zone B: $95,500 - $183,300
–Zone C: $86,800 - $166,600
